Franz J. Köhler Award 2023

The Franz J. Köhler Prize was awarded to Mr Lars Saemann from Halle (Department of Professor Gabor Szabo) this year.

His field of scientific research includes “Diastolic and microvascular dysfunction after machine perfusion”. Accordingly, the topic of his doctoral thesis is: Perfusion-based preservation and reconditioning of donor hearts.

For his scientific research, Mr Saemann has already been awarded many times, with a total of ten research prizes and scholarships since 2019. Half of these were awarded to him by international societies or on the occasion of scientific meetings (e.g. ISHLT).
