Registration is open for STS 2024, the 60th Annual Meeting of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons in San Antonio, Texas USA.
The 53rd Annual Meeting of the German Society for Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgery will take place in February 2024. For the the 9th consecutive time it will coincide with the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Defects.
Open-heart surgery, introduced 5 decades ago, marked a medical breakthrough. In 1955, Denis Melrose pioneered elective cardiac arrest and in 1975, Hans J. Bretschneider developed an "intracellular" cardioplegic solution, leading to 3 million worldwide procedures. The 6th Heart Team Winter Summit will take place from March 17th to 22nd, 2024, in Zürs am Arlberg. The previous meeting, attended by adult and pediatric cardiac surgeons and cardiologists. The summit will expand scientific topics to include pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery.
